I would want to be known for
relentless, impeccable discipline, integrity, strong ethics and values. I want to be known for my patience and perseverance.

Military discipline and values are something that are certainly impeccable. There are some countries like Israel where every citizen needs to spend 3 years in military service. This seems to be nurturing a culture of discipline, ethics and values.

Corporates in India have brought in a good sense of discipline, ethics and integrity into the community.

A new profession begins small evolves based on the demand. Well.. first there is a need and that is tapped into an opportunity to make it a sustainable business model.
In the case of the movie industry, we know that long time back, the entertainment was a kind of puppet show or a stage act. When the show became popular these actors/group traveled across to diff places. Fast forward... technology adds in and hence the advent of a movie industry.

The business model still thrives on entertaining the public.

One example that comes to my mind is something that I can relate to immediately. If I want somethign to be a culture, I need faster results. I started this blog to continue to learn something, continue leadership and breed leadership. Best way to start the same is, practice is in a system that I am close to, where I can reflect changes, I can reflect leadership. Practice leadership continuously in my environment where ever I am close, where ever I am immediate - my house, my Company and see results take effect immediately. That way, I make a bigger impact. Please note that communication is complete at any level only when Person A and Person B keep exchanging positions throughout. Communication has to be 2-way to be successful. Person A has to ensure that person B is indeed with him and on the same page as he/she is from time to time. Otherwise the process would be 1-way, with person A only assuming that person B has understood everything exactly as s/he is expected to.

Team work is what comes to my mind!! For the candle to emit light energy, you need wax and wick, fire and air (Oxygen). But you need them in right proportions. A wick cannot be too thick and at the same time you need air but again too much of it can put it off. Similarly for any project to succeed you need good team players each of them co-operating with the other.

mmm..it takes nothing to be extraordinary :-)..whatever be the meaning of the word.

as someone rightly said here, it is subjective - from the various minds. like, it is e'ordianry, for the girl, just to be a flowergirl in gb shah's Pygmalion or for a chambermaid in kafka's Castle to be a barmaid!! so it depends on our exposure, our dreams and our perseverance.

so may be it suffices to ask - shd i be a good worker, good human being or a good role-player (say a son or a citizen) than asking - shd i be the best worker, best human etc.,

in sum, i think if i m honest to my own feelings abt what i m doing, be it my job, my responsibilities, my roles as a hub and a dad etc., i m by default achieving a lot- indirectly helping the larger society. once i achieve this, may be i ll talk abt impacting the larger audience. so the gradualy increment of my utility to rest of the humanbeings defines my extraordinariness..the more i impact, the more extra am i!! great day!

Terming something as "Extraordinary" is very subjective. I would rather say I would give my 100% to any task that kindles the passion within me to execute the task. Response from others for having done it could vary from "hmm" to "wow". That should not matter to me as long as after having completed the work, I can look back on it and feel happy for what has been accomplished in my capacity.

This is great picture with lot of positive energy to invigorate the hidden passion in you. "Green" the color used to signify prosperity (e.g in the Indian flag) or cleanliness (Green city aka a pollution free env). The small circle has some light energy flowing from it. The other big circle for me is the earth in this ideal atmosphere of greenery and the inflowing positive energy.

"extraordinary" is a big word often very confusing to me. What I think of "extraordinary" may be trivial to the other person. I like the saying " Do simple things in a great manner rather than doing great things in a simple way". As I still wonder what extraordinary means... I'll try to cultivate the habit of doing one task a day which pleases a stranger. After few days this will evolve to be a habit and may lead me to better thinking.

Thought provoking picture indeed. I see a spiral that comes into the frame from outside and then terminates into the spiral of the shell.

This is what comes to mind. Just like your vision if you will… from the plethora of things that you could have focused on, you have chosen to focus on a single vision. All that you have experienced, learnt, faced, witnessed and felt is culminating into this vision which will become clearer as you spiral towards it, picking facts, reinforcing it with real life examples until you reach the heart of the matter where what you want to say is there… the absolute truth… irrefutable and obvious as truth usually is…

I look at it as a representation of a great team:
- Leadership knows its short comings (so the gap at the top in 1), knows its strengths and is ready to reach out to help its peers, and the reporting team.
- Every member of the team (2 in the picture) recognize their shortcomings and look to his/her mentor to help fill that, while being ready to work with peers to create a strong knit team committed to the common goal.
- with experience, each team member is ready to mentor newer additions too - making the team and the process to achieve the common goal while being people independent.

Only when People Independence is truly achieved can an enterprise be eternally successful. Else, it sustains existence only as long as the pieces in the puzzle fit well together.
